Elevation Welcomes New CEO & Leadership Staff

By CivicAdmin October 2, 2018

After a national search for candidates, Elevation Community Land Trust’s advisory board named Stefka Czarnecki Fanchi as Chief Executive Officer, and she will begin in this role in early November.

With two decades experience in the nonprofit and public sectors, Stefka is a statewide leader in affordable housing, serving as the Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity Colorado (HFHC) since 2004. During her tenure at HFHC, Stefka mobilized capital toward single-family housing projects across the state by maximizing relationships with diverse partners, including government agencies, foundations, corporations and individuals, and she helped transform the organization’s governance and operational systems to create a foundation for success.

In her new role, Stefka is responsible for fulfilling Elevation’s mission of expanding homeownership opportunities across Colorado, and she will focus on building its staff, board and assets so it can meet the goal of acquiring or developing 700 CLT homes in its first five years of operation.

In addition, Elevation recently welcomed two new members to its leadership team, including Barbara Navin as Vice President of Stewardship and David Ogunsanya as Vice President of Real Estate.

Barbara joins Elevation CLT from Lexington Community Land Trust, where she served as its first executive director, and she will lead Elevation’s resident engagement strategy. David previously served as Director of Housing for Athens Land Trust in Athens Georgia, and he will lead Elevation’s real estate acquisition strategy.
